I'm a Black British woman who's spent decades navigating beauty and wellness industries that weren't designed with me in mind. From working as a BBC news journalist to championing EDI across various organisations, I've seen the same pattern everywhere - adaptation rather than celebration.

After years of studying beauty icons like Bobby Brown and Laura Mercier, refining techniques for melanin-rich skin, and building expertise in health and wellness, I realised something: we need to stop asking for inclusion and start claiming our space.

Recent 2025 research shows 74% of people with darker skin still struggle to find suitable products, despite representing 11% of beauty spending.

A-Beauty exists to change this. Not to ask permission, but to claim the space that's always been ours - a beauty revolution that places melanin-rich skin at the centre.

I'm not a beauty expert - I platform the incredible voices who are. But I am someone who creates cohesive societies by being bold, holding hands with all colours, while stating who we are.
